We are running the latest version of IP Monitor and are monitoring disk, memory and CPU resources on an AIX 7.1 virtual server. IP Monitor is reporting the memory and CPU are high, however, when they look with TOPAS everything looks normal. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Used IPMonitor at my last employer. Really liked the product and thought it was a good value.
I went to purchase it today at my new employer, and it isn't on the list of current products on the Solarwinds site. But somewhat recent discussion here seems to indicate it is still being developed, albeit maybe a little slower than we all might like.
So is IPMonitor dead, or soon to be? Can I still purchase it?
Hi,
is it possible to create custom wmi monitors like with snmp?
If yes could you describe it to me?
Or is there another workthrough to get custom wmi values?
Regards, bgf
I'm curious if anyone can provide any details about the Settings parameter of the MonitorAdd and MonitorEdit methods within the ipMonitor 7.0 configuration interface?
I have been successful at requesting information from the SOAP API using PHP and NuSoap.
Below is a sample of my code:
require_once('nusoap-php5-0.9/lib/nusoap.php');
$wsdl="ipm7config.wsdl"; // local copy of wsdl with last line of wsdl updated to my IP Monitor server <soap:address location="http://[my server ip]/soap/config.asmx" />
$client=new soapclientNusoap($wsdl, true);
$result = $proxy->MonitorListDesc(null); // provides a list of all monitors
$result = $proxy->MonitorView(array('mon_id'=>'1000000')); // provides monitor details for the selected monitor id
// Here I form an array type similar to the output of MonitorView
$SETTINGS['monitor']['id'] = "1000000";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['typeid'] = "6";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['parentid'] = "300022";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['ui']['name'] = "My Monitor - HTML - ID# 999";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['addr'] = "192.168.0.1";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['port'] = "80";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['url'] = "/";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['search'] = "my search term";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['retvalue'] = "0";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['nv']['failiffound'] = "false";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['notifyfailures'] = "2";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['maxalerts'] = "65535";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['maxtest'] = "10";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['testing']['up'] = "60";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['testing']['warn'] = "2";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['testing']['down'] = "2";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['testing']['lost'] = "2";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['stats']['enabled'] = "true";
$SETTINGS['monitor']['enabled'] = "true";
$result = $proxy->MonitorEdit(array('Settings'=>$SETTINGS));
To date, I've been unable to get the MonitorAdd or MonitorEdit method call to successfully return. I'm confident it's due to the fact that I have not set up the struct Settings parameter correclty. The API documentation is weak and it lacks any details on formatting the settings parameter. I've even tried to send in an XML string for Settings to no avail like below. I've contacted Solar Winds and spoke to Chris Foley but their stand reply is we don't support the API anymore. All I need to know is how the Settings parameter needs to be passed into the MonitorAdd or MonitorEdit methods!!!!

I'm using ipMonitor which has a build-in web server. I need to turn off SSL 3.0 support in the server to prevent an attack via poodle, CVE-2014-3566.
Is there a setting that allows this to be accomplished?
Is it possible to integrate the ipMonitor with ITSM Tools like Service Now.
if yes please suggest the Steps.
How can I download the latest Beta?
I'm wondering if there is a way of setting an alert if bandwidth drops below a certain point. I noticed the canned monitor only alerts if levels exceed a certain point. I tried the other SNMP options to no avail.
Using Solarwinds Ipmonitor version 10 , I need to monitor w3wp or application pool. How is this done on Solarwinds ipmonitor 10 ?
We are trying to monitor temperature on a x3650 server. Unlike Dell server, we are not able to get the SNMP working. I assume we do not have the required MIBs in our ipMonitor SNMP list? With Solarwinds consultants help I've now imported a pack of IBM MIBs into our ipMonitor. However, still no luck with monitoring the temperature. Other general items are fine, like CPU, Memory, SysUptime...
I notice with IBM server, it usually use a hardware adapter for remote monitoring RSA. Do I need to have it installed in order to monitor the temperature? I notice its update files shipped with MIBs, do I need to import them into ipMonitor as well?
Is it possible to extend solarwinds tria perion to allow more testing?if yes , how do I achieve this?
Hi Geeks,
Can u please advise me what are the steps for the upgradation of latest version of ipmonitor from ipmonitor version 10.6.
server is windows server 2008 , 64 bit.
Thanks

How can I script the enabling/disabling of certain monitors? (ideally using Powershell, but other scripting languages will work as well)
Hi
I am trying to configure alert to go out to a mobile sms gateway but this doesn't seem to be working. I get the error below upon trying to do a force test
Action Error: The outbound alert message did not reach its destination. The test failed.
Alerts going out to normal email address works fine.
The version of IP Monitor I am running is : 10.6 build 1567
Has anyone seen this issue before?
Cheers,
Kris
Hello,
Im having issues with IPMonitor 10.0. The ipMonitor server is never stopped or accessed and it always been running smoothly but on 11/11/2012 I had the error im listing above.
Its related with .NET Runtime 2.0. I have to mention this server OS has been never updated since the installation phase, to try to avoid this kind of issues.
All interaction is done through ipMonitor WebGUI.
Any help on this issue will be very good for Community.

The installation guide says that Windows 2012 is supported. But its unclear if Windows 2012 R2 is officially supported.
Also, the release notes do not say anything about adding support for Windows 2012 or R2.
I'm looking to migrate an existing ipMonitor away from Windows 2003 and onto the latest supported version. Should I use 2012 or 2012 R2?
I've noticed that from time to time the CPU monitor is reporting negative CPU utilization. Any ideas on what that means or why it is happening?

Hello there 8-)
I've brought a GSM modem and config everything I could find from the Doc.and once I trigger the SMS alert, the IPmonitor sent a SMS to my mobile properly .but after that, the SMS alert never worked again. 8-(thanks in advance.
Ricky with 8-)
below is the log I've got when I force a test.

Hi,
I have been evaluating this product for about a week now, i am comparing it to whatsup gold premium edition. I like everything about ipmon9, its more robust and has a better snmp database.
Just one thing is keeping me away from it, is there a way to put up a graph and have it automatically refresh the data, so every minute or so the graph will refresh with live data?
thats one thing that i could not figure out, the only i have it refreshing is if i manually press the refresh button, which is not feasible since we will be putting this up on a big screen and just monitoring the graphs.
Thanks
